Welcome to the website for ASSINDO (American Studies Society of Indonesia). The website is intended to be the hub of the American Studies scholars in Indonesia with information on our events, conferences, seminar, calls for papers, publications, related research networks and a media contacts database through which we can share our expertise and increase our visibility. We welcome communication from our members and from anyone interested in the work we do to promote the study of America in Indonesia.
ASSINDO, American Studies Society of Indonesia, aims to promote and encourage study and research in all areas of American culture and society. To this end, the association have organized biennial conferences and international seminar, published an annual newsletter, and facilitated scientific and cultural collaboration with national and international colleagues, associations and other institutions.
ASSINDO also aims to promote and encourage the study of all areas of American Studies, assisting individuals and groups in developing their work and sharing their cultural and scientific interests. This goal also guides the cultural and intellectual policy of the Association and its attempt to redefine and understand the interdisciplinary character of these studies in Indonesia. ASSINDO welcomes members of the academic world, college faculty, graduate students, independent scholars as well as individuals from public and private institutions, as stipulated by the official bylaws of the Association. ASSINDO publishes a journal once a year, collaborates in the publication of a journal, RUBIKON, organizes biennial conferences, and promotes scientific and cultural collaboration with national and international colleagues, associations and other institutions.
